DescriptionBuilt in 1947, this was the first Amarillo movie theater built after the war. The grand opening took place on October 24, 1947. The theater seated 763 people. To the right of the Esquire is Cretney's Drug Store (1800 South Washington). Just to the left of the Esquire is Freeman's Flower Shop (1810 South Washington), and to the far left, Lee Hardware and Home Supply (1812 South Washington).
